Discipline 1: Focus on the Really Important Goals or RIG
Under this discipline; the WBS and the
detailed Level 4 Project Schedule are the
main tools. The top 3 to 4 aspects of the
work that provides the biggest bang for
Safety, Progress and Integrity are reviewed
by Baseline Management on a standard
periodic basis
Discipline 2: Act on the Lead Measures
This discipline ensures that Lead measures
are identified and documented upfront in
the areas of Safety, Quality, Schedule and
Integrity. Under this discipline, the lead
measures are given the right focus as they
provide the best opportunity to reduce or
eliminate lagging indicators before they
impact the work.
Discipline 3: Keep a Compelling Scoreboard
The scoreboard tells the story in a snapshot.
Both FISCO and Client Management can
see the factual position of things in one
look. The scoreboard includes lead measures and lagging measures which help to
focus on issues and management of issues.
Discipline 4: Create a Cadence of Accountability
TDiscipline 4 is about being accountable at all
levels and across disciplines. Site Supervisors
to Project Manager to Project Director;
Project Director to Client Project Director
and Board. Cadence is developed around the
following - SHES, Quality, Issues Management, Change Management, Progress
Measurement and Reviews, as a minimum.
